Luanne Dominix

Luanne Dominix is a visual artist and educator based in Bay Roberts, NL. Her practice explores the intersection of material culture, natural resources, and identity. Through her watercolour paintings she strives to capture the essence of this connection and explore how it shapes our sense of self and place. Her work features symbols and imagery that ask the viewer to explore the inherent beauty and complexity of her province while reflecting on the changing dynamics faced by contemporary Newfoundlanders.

Luanne’s work has been exhibited in juried exhibitions across Canada and the United States including with the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour; the Society of Watercolour Artists; the Federation of Canadian Artists; as well as the Arts and Letters Award Exhibition held at the Rooms. Additionally, her work is a part of The Rooms Provincial Art Bank, the City of St. John’s and Eastern Health - MHAC's, permanent collections. In 2021 she won Riddle Fence’s Visual Art Contest. Luanne is currently preparing for her upcoming solo show which will be held at the rOGUE Gallery in November 2025. Luanne holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies (Architecture) from Dalhousie University, a Master of Business Administration from Memorial University of Newfoundland as well as a certificate in Post-Secondary Adult Education.
