Dianne Hussey
Dianne was raised on the east coast of Newfoundland on the Avalon Peninsula where she discovered her artistic passion. Growing up surrounded by music, the smell of the ocean, the rugged coastline and a unique culture is the inspiration for her art. She finds being creative frees the mind.
Dianne works mostly with acrylics but has worked with different mediums such as oils and watercolors. She enjoys experimenting whenever possible. While constantly learning and finding her own way she has studied under several local artists including Barbara Pratt, Ed Roche and other well-established artists. She continues to attend art workshops and events whenever possible. Her work is displayed in homes and businesses throughout the Province and Canada. Dianne is a long-time active member and Board Member of the Art Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (AANL), a member of the Botanical Arts Society NL (BASNL), a former member of the Realist Artists of Newfoundland and Labrador (RANL), and IceberGallery. In 2014 with RANL she was fortunate enough to participate in the Burin Project, an exhibit whose purpose was to bring Burin’s vast history to life through art. This amazing project consisted of 40 artworks by 34 local artists.
Being involved with multiple art organizations has certainly aided in Dianne’s artistic growth while helping promote the artistic community. She enjoys meeting and creating regularly with her artist friends.
